Story about this
This plantation town, closely as associated with Thekkady, is situated on the outskirts of the Periyar Sanctuary. It is an important shopping Center and spice trade Centre, the main bus station and most of the medium range accommodation in the Periyar region is in Kumuli. Kumuli is located very close to Periyar in Kerala, serves as the perfect base for going on wildlife safaris to the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Kumuli is also the largest Gram Panchayat in Kerala, located in cardamom hills and near Thekkady and Periyar Tiger Reserve. Kumuli is also known as the Gateway to Thekaddy and is also known as spices capital of Kerala.
The place had been the destination of the ‘glitterati’ from the times of imperial sway. It served as the summer sojourn for the Travancore Kings and as a home away from home for the English. The seamless mingle of sky and land lends a heavenly aura to kuttikkanam. Here all amenities a well-groomed person seeks for are within a hands reach. The place has a golf course, some of the finest Multi Cuisine restaurants, an Ayurvedic Rejuvenation center and many a modern facility that would make one’s holiday a time worth remembering. Acres of green, an endless carpet of tea plantations, serene places where wind whispers, rocky patches where the wind whispers, rocky patches and nimble waterfalls the list is endless.
