The Copacabana Fort is located between Copacabana and Arpoador. It was an important military fortress, built in the early 20th century and today is off. Fort of Copacabana has a fantastic view of the sea which is open in front of Copacabana beach and also to the sea and Arpoador and Ipanema beach. After walking a bit, contemplating the beautiful view of the Copacabana sea, you reach the entrance of the fortress and Bunker built in 1914. And once arriving there, you can visit its dependencies, which are made of rooms and tunnels protected by thick walls of 12 meters. From inside cannot see the sea. The location has magnificent views of Copacabana, Arpoador Stone and Cagarras Islands. Except for the entry, the fortress is all closed without any further communications with the outside, except for the guns.
